1st Birthday

I had my first paid gig last Sunday. I think it went pretty well. Though one-year-old Mateo did sleep through what was supposed to be portrait time, so he was ready and cheerful for his whole party. He was super sweet and affable. Nothing seemed to bother him at all. His mom had all kinds of wonderful details for his party, including m&m's with his face on them! They even had an ice cream truck come park in the driveway. Such a nice day to be a part of.

I'm still working away at taking pictures. I have my first paying job this Sunday, so far I've just been practicing. Here are a few more from a practice session I did with a coworker's 10 month old daughter. She was soo cute. I just love watching the little ones and capturing them. I think I get more excited about the pictures than the parents do. I guess I never thought of the fact that not everyone will be quite as enthusiastic about pictures as I am :)

I forget if I mentioned my plan to raise money for Big Brothers Big Sisters. I am going to donate my photography services in exchange for donations. So I decided to get some practice in before I actually made people pay. Here are some practice shots. My neighbors were great to let me use their kid for a bit.
