Photo-Ghost

Five points for whoever guesses how I took this picture. I promise there was no post processing at all. Not even color correction. Maybe, I stalked a ghost....

A good hint might be this picture.

  1. I don't know how, but it's an amazing picture. I'll guess it's a time-lapse or multiple/slow exposure. If I knew more about cameras, I'd have a more educated guess...

  2. the light in the room is low so to get a good shot of the "background" the shutter speed was really slow and your hand was not in the pic very long. now not entirely sure how you did it without blurring of the hand....

  3. You are both right about the slow exposure. Hannah's right the good part of the trick is that there is no motion blur from when the hand moved away :)

  7. ok double exposure how many points do i get?

  8. Donovan, I'll give you 3 points. The camera was not technically set for double exposure, but it's the same concept, and you could definitely achieve the effect that way.

  10. She had a flashlight, turned it on with a long shutter speed, then removed her hand and turned it back on again. You can tell because of the inconstant light in the image, it's very concentrated. Also, the hint is a picture of her twirling a flashlight around in front of a camera with slow exposure.

  11. No fair, Scott's already got all the RiPoints he'll ever need, this game is fixed!

  12. I was trying to remember what Corey had done to achieve the same effect when he took pictures of me like that on our drive. I knew it had something to do with external lighting and long exposure. If you're still passing out RiPoints, Corey answered correctly before I showed him Scott's answer...

  13. Scott doesn't get any points because he was only partially right and I had to give him the answer.
Corey gets 4 points. He gets props for getting the correct answer, but -1 for not commenting himself.

  15. I love it! Good job Adrienne. Slow exposure's are cool. Do you own a tripod? Streams are cool to do this stuff with too.
