Highlights (not the magazine)

Not a whole lot going on around here. I had lunch in the Sony Club on Monday with my boss's boss. That was great! The Sony Club was rated #1 of the corporate dining rooms in NYC, or something like that. It's where the big execs and VIPs eat when they're around. The sushi there is absolutely the best there is, with the sushi chef occasionally in town from Japan. He happened to be in town on Monday so I got to eat some Toro - which is the very very best quality of Tuna, it almost tastes like butter and just melts in your mouth. Enough bragging though. I had a softball game on Monday night. We were playing the #1 team and held our own pretty well. We were only down by 1 in the 4th inning, then we really fell apart and they scored 9 runs. The game ended something like 9-15. Blech. But we did play on an interesting field. It was directly under the Queensboro bridge. I mean directly under, as in our foul balls went up onto the bridge in rush hour. Seems a little risky, but that's alright. It was like playing volleyball in a low cielinged gym. You just had to keep the ball a little lower. One of these days I'll take the camera out ot softball and add pictures. I've always got so much other equipment the camera doesn't make the cut. Another game tomorrow!

p.s. I was trying to come up with a title for this post, and "highlights" came to mind. Did any of you get/read that magazine when you were a little kid? I remember learning to read by using the stories that had words mixed in with pictures. You remember?

  1. I was a huge fan of Highlights, and still read it when I go to the Dentist's office. The Goofus/Gallant cartoons always cracked me up. Oh, manners.

  2. LOL, I always liked the hidden picture games too.

  3. Lol the only place I ever read highlights was at the dentist's office. I remember that it was no fun cause some other kid had always gotten to it first and colored all over the pages and solved all the puzzles

  4. Dido on the dentist office. I loved finding the object page!
