My Friends are My Heroes

I know I have been very slow at blogging lately. We're now officially moved to Golden/Denver Colorado and are very much enjoying things. Hopefully I'll start keeping up a little better soon.

This morning I found out that two good friends of ours had been in a fire late last night. The news coverage can be seen here. Alan and Jen were in the top apartment. Basically, the fire started in the place below them and they had to climb out a window to escape. From what I've heard, they're both going to be ok. Alan had third degree burns on 14% of his back plus smoke inhalation and Jen had a cut on her head. Alan will probably be in the hospital for awhile though and they didn't have renter's insurance.

I'm hoping to do some fund-raising through my photography here in Denver to help them out. I've contacted a few mom's groups to see if they'd be interested in getting together to get photos and then their fees will all go towards helping Jen and Alan get back on their feet.

Alan and Jen visited us in New York, here's my post about it, and waited patiently in the ER for us when Scott got his lip cut in soccer, I'd love to help them out.  My thoughts go out to them and their family, hoping they all get better soon.
